EDUCATION

Woodleigh School’s two-week arts festival is one of the most ambitious creative programs running in a Victorian high school. When Arts Festival Director Leike Koren reached out to Archer Studio, they wanted something real, not a lecture: a day that would stay with students.

Archer Studio brought a full team to Langwarrin South on 15 October 2025.

What We Made Happen

THE WORKSHOP

Collage, community and self-expression

Alex Creece led an hour-long collage art workshop for Years 7-11, working with magazines, comic books, music publications and found materials to help students make art from what’s around them. Hailey Moroney and Dani Leever supported on the floor, connecting with students throughout.

THE LUNCH HOUR

LGBTQIA+ Pride student group meet and greet

During the lunch break, the team joined Woodleigh’s Pride student group in the drama room for an informal meet and greet with DJ, performance and conversation. Winter Greene (performer Grey Cesira) performed an original movement piece made entirely from recycled and reclaimed materials.

THE PANEL

300 students. One stage.

Dani Leever represented Archer Studio on the school hall panel alongside Kristy from Haus of Dizzy and a Year 10/11 student. Drawing on their work as an editor, writer and DJ at Minus 18 queer formals, Dani spoke to creative careers, queer community and life after school.
