QFamily

Q Family is a service within Drummond Street Services and Queerspace, delivering low and no cost support to LGBTIQA+ families and individuals across Victoria, grounded in social justice and an intersectional approach to family wellbeing.

Archer Studio was engaged to build the service’s first comprehensive digital platform: a new brand identity, a website built to grow from a single landing page into a full national resource hub, and the tools to help families and professionals actually find their way in.

Brand Identity

A brand that feels like home

The brief called for a visual identity that was warm, grounded and affirming, built for families, young people and professionals alike. We developed a full style guide: a palette of bright orange, deep magenta, citrus green and soft pink anchored by black and white, paired with clear, accessible typography and a plain language content approach. Every decision was checked against WCAG AA contrast standards and built with screen readers, keyboard navigation and cognitive load in mind, because this is a service people reach out to at difficult moments.

The Build

From landing page to national resource hub

The build was staged to match Q Family’s funding. We designed and delivered a landing page live by June 2026, giving the service an immediate front door: a hero section, three audience pathway cards (Youth, Children and Parents, Adults), and full navigation. From there we built out the complete site: About, Resources, For Professionals, Events and Groups, and Get Support, including a full Expression of Interest intake form modelled on Queerspace’s own counselling intake and routed directly to the Drummond Street Services team.

How We Worked
Visual brand identity and style guide: colour palette, typography, imagery direction and accessibility standards
Website landing page: hero section, three audience pathway cards, full site navigation
Full website build: About, Resources hub, For Professionals, Events and Groups, Get Support
Get Support Expression of Interest form: full clinical intake with conditional fields, routed to Drummond Street Services
Five rounds of wireframing, working from approved copy through to final build
Coordination with development partner YarraWeb on build, plus scoping for future Salesforce and Blackthorn events integration
Accessible, plain language content system built for families and professionals under stress
