Wicked Words with Darebin Arts
Archer Studio proudly curated, produced and photographed Wicked Words, a delicious, smutty storytelling event celebrating the legacy of Wicked Women, the iconic lesbian sex zine of the 1990s.
Queer folks across many generations came to celebrate queer histories and steamy storytelling in this special collaboration between Archer Magazine and Wicked Words. Presented in partnership with Darebin Arts and Tiger Salmon, the event took place at Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre and featured a powerhouse lineup of queer storytellers and performers: Frankie Van Kan, Jinghua Qian, Joel Bray, Mayhem as Nana Madge, Hini Hanara and Hugo Grrrl.
What We Made Happen
A raucous celebration of queer erotica, photographed and produced
The event was a joyful, raucous celebration of queer erotica and community: a space where desire, humour and history collided in the most delightful way. Our photography captured the energy of the room, performers in full flight, audience members overcome with laughter and recognition, and the intimate atmosphere of Northcote Town Hall transformed into something magical.
How We Worked
Archer Studio are proud to have led the curation of this one-night-only Naarm gathering paying homage to our raucous queer heritage.
