Disability Pride Month: Inclusive Rainbow Voices
Archer Studio were commissioned to photograph Inclusive Rainbow Voices’ (IRV) Disability Pride Month celebration. In line with IRV’s mission to represent and advocate for the human rights of all LGBTQIA+ people with disability, this event brought together community members and allies for a night of storytelling, solidarity, and celebration.
Hosted in Naarm, this community-led gathering exclusively platformed disabled queer voices. Archer Studio were approached to photograph the event because of our track record working with multiply marginalised communities, and our own lived experiences. Photographed by Jade Florence, the imagery captured the heart of the event: a vibrant celebration of disabled queer pride and community connection.
What We Made Happen
A night of disabled queer storytelling, documented
The event provided a platform for disabled LGBTQIA+ community members to share their stories and be seen in all their complexity and beauty. Archer Studio’s presence behind the lens helped document this important moment in community history.
How We Worked
Our approach was led by empathy and discretion. The images amplified the strength, joy, and resistance of disabled queer voices.
