Benched is Pride Cup Australia’s podcast. Sport through a queer lens, where being queer is baked in and never explained. Three hosts, strong opinions, and a show that treats sport as culture rather than competition.
Pride Cup came to Archer Studio for the key photography. Not promo shots, but the visual world of the show itself. The images introduce the hosts, set the tone, and become the look that carries across launch, key art and everything after.
One day. Three locations. A whole world for the show.
We shot the full visual identity in a single morning across Abbotsford. Bold, a little gritty, warm rather than polished, and implicitly queer throughout.
Victoria Park came first. Grandstand, oval and open space, grounding the hosts in Australian sporting ritual and folklore. Then a boxing gym on Stanton Street for texture and earned confidence, worn equipment and candid framing over performance. We finished at Thorne Harbour Health, where the table became the stage. Mics visible, chemistry over posing, shot to feel like you arrived halfway through the conversation.
That last setup gave us the hero. The defining image of Benched, built as 1:1 key art with room for the logo treatment up top, and the foundation for PR and the title sequence.
